Alpine climbing is a ton of fun and more technically involved than general mountaineering. To be a good alpine climber your skills need to be broad, with a good mixture of rock climbing, ice climbing, glacier travel, and everything in between. It’s the cumulation of all your mountain skills. In the end the words “alpine” & “mountaineering” can be interchangeable but the context will point you toward one or the other. Putting that aside it is a ton of fun moving fast & light through the hills with a smaller team of climbers. The below courses have lower guest-to-guide ratios (1:1 or 2:1).

Abbot Classic
Test your alpine fitness and skills on two great 11,000ers from the historic Abbot Pass Hut. Surreal mountain views all day! Awesome Climbing!
We’ll catch the Lake O’Hara bus or walk in in the morning and then make our way to Abbot Pass. Getting up to the pass will be challenging but it’s not without many rewards. The surrounding of Lake O’Hara is known as the “Gem of the Canadian Rockies” and for good reason. This place is spectacular for hiking and climbing.
Once at the pass (2925m), we’ll get to admire the historical Abbot Pass Hut, which is unfortunately closed due to slope erosion concerns. The next two days will be spent attempting our luck on the adjacent mountains, Mt. Victoria (3464m) and Mt. Lefroy (3423m). These two peaks are superb and characteristically different than one another, which offers a nice change in terms of climbing style. Also, both of them are 11’000ers of the Canadian Rockies. On the 3rd day we’ll hike out back to Lake O’Hara where we’ll catch an outgoing bus that will return us to our vehicles. Inquire for more details on this thrilling, 3-day mountain trip!
